If you hold the left mouse button down while mouse-ing over the image, Photoshop will show you that position on the curve with a little circle.  Note the eye-dropper on the left petal and the little circle near the bottom of the curve.  If you then hold down the Control key while you left-click, Photoshop will mark that place with a dot.

I wanted to bring out the lines on the petals, so made this section steeper.
